X Window Emulators

In order to access X Window applications from your Macintosh or PC running the Windows operating system, you need Secure Shell (ssh) and an X Window emulator installed. There are many different free and commercial offerings, and the University has some low cost licenses for University of Minnesota faculty and staff.

X Window Emulators for Windows

For University of Minnesota faculty and staff Xwin32 is an X Window emulator that is available at a reduced cost through Academic and Distributed Computing Services (ADCS) www1.umn.edu/adcs/site/list.html.
