Driving directions

I-35W bridge collapse information: please see the Minnesota Department of Transportation website for information. The exits listed in the directions below are all open at this time.

I-35W, North: As you’re nearing the downtown Minneapolis area, watch for the signs directing you to the U of M/3rd Street exit. Remain in the right lanes that split from 35W. Follow the east bank sign, exiting off the main roadway. You’ll merge onto Washington Avenue. Go over the Washington Avenue Bridge. Take the East River Pkwy ramp, first right turn after crossing the bridge. Turn right onto River Rd. E. Turn right onto Arlington St. SE, turn right onto Pleasant St., go 1/2 block.

I-35W, South: Take the University Ave. exit. Turn left on University Ave, go to 15th Ave. SE, turn right. The 15 Ave., SE will become Pleasant St., SE. Follow Pleasant St., SE.

From I-94: Take the Huron Blvd. exit. Proceed on Huron Blvd to 4th St., SE. Continue on 4th St., SE to 15th Ave., SE. Turn left on 15th Ave. SE, The 15 Ave., SE will become Pleasant St., SE. Follow Pleasant St., SE.

Parking

There are two parking garages within short (less than ten minutes) walking distance to Walter Library and the Supercomputing Institute: Weisman Garage and Church Street Garage. We recommend that visitors use the Weisman garage. During peak parking periods on campus (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), this garage more often has space available than the Church Street Garage.
