Some computers running on Windows operating system may be connected remotely through "Remote Desktop Connection" to one of our Windows servers (sdvlapp2 or sdvlapp32). However special permission may be needed to access a particular computer. Please contact help@msi.umn.edu for more information.
Start from a personal computer running on Windows operating system. If you can not find "Remote Desktop Connection", download it from www.microsoft.com.
Start "Remote Desktop Connection" from:
Start ->
Programs ->
Accessories ->
Communications ->
'Remote Desktop Connection'

On the 'Remote Desktop Connection' windows, click 'Options >>' button.

On expended 'Remote Desktop Connection' windows, click 'Local Resources' tab.
Please check 'Disk drives' if you want to access your local disk drives while you are logon the remote computer. Some of windows may need to click More button to view 'Disk drives'.

On the 'Remote Desktop Connection' window, click General tab.
Then fill in these fields:Computer: sdvlapp2.msi.umn.edu or sdvlapp32.msi.umn.edu
username:
password:
Domain: DTC

Click Connect button to start. You will be prompted to regular PC login windows
